not in my head, there was a reason for it, a medical<br />

sores and cramps in the muscles was very simple and you<br />

<p>Look at the food you consume – the labels. If you find<br />
that the foodstuff you eat contains more sodium than<br />
potassium then you found your answer to your chronic<br />
fatigue.</p>
<p>Your daily potassium intake should be about 4 000 mg.<br />
Here is the information of how to get rid of your<br />
perpetual tiredness – fatigue.</p>
<p><em><strong>Step TWO:</strong></em></p>
<p>Eat daily one  banana, containing about 400 mg of<br />
potassium. A baked  potato  with  skin   about 1 200 mg<br />
of potassium. One cap of steamed spinach has about 1 000<br />

<p>Number 13, as a number is thought of as an unlucky … Yet<br />
it is considered <strong>lucky</strong> and <strong>unlucky</strong> by many people when<br />
the 13th of the month falls on <strong>Friday</strong>.</p>
<p>In this year, 2009, Friday the 13th occurred in the Month<br />
of February, March and November. The next year to contain<br />
<strong>THREE Friday the 13 dates</strong> is going to be the year of<br />
2012.</p>
<p>The exact origin of this superstition is not known, but<br />
the following information began to be contemplated as<br />
such sometime during the 19th century.</p>
<p>In our modern Day and Age there are many people who<br />
insist that the 13 is an <strong>unlucky</strong> number, and that Friday<br />
is an unlucky <strong>day</strong> &#8211; period.</p>
<p>When we think of numbers we tent to visualize “<strong>12</strong>” as a<br />
whole number:</p>
<p>We have 12 hours in a clock, 12 month in a year, there<br />
are 12 Zodiac signs, 12 tribes of Israel, Jesus had 12<br />
Apostles, we hear about 12 Gods of Olympus and many more…</p>
<p>The Number <strong>13</strong>, began to be considered odd. There were 13<br />
people sitting at the table when Jesus had the Last<br />
Supper, hence the modern concept is that if that many<br />
people are sitting at the table one of them would have to<br />
die during that year.</p>
<p>Since the 14th century (when The Canterbury Tales were<br />
written) Friday was considered as unlucky day to begin<br />
new projects or journeys.</p>
<p>Jesus was crucified on Friday -  therefore it is<br />
considered an unlucky day.</p>
<p>There is another reference to unlucky Friday at the time<br />
of the beginning of Christianity:</p>
<p>During the time when Norse and Germanic tribes converted<br />
to Christianity Friday was named after the free-spirited<br />
goddess of love and fertility, Frigga, who was banished<br />
and considered to be a witch.</p>
<p>The insulted and spiteful goddess was holding meetings<br />
every Friday with 11 witches and the devil to plot bad<br />
events for the next week.</p>
<p>An important event happened on Friday, October the 13th,<br />
1307 in France, when the Knights Templar,  (a monastic<br />
military order protecting Christian pilgrims during the<br />
Crusades) was arrested by the order of King Philip,<br />
because he was jealous of the Knights Templar power and<br />
wealth. (This event was part of The Da Vinci Code in<br />
2003).</p>
<p>Close to twenty five million people in the North America<br />
fear the Friday in general. Those people avoid getting<br />
out of bed, if they can help it, don’t do business, don’t<br />
undertake any traveling, etc…</p>
<p>Natural events on Friday the 13th</p>
<p>Due to the large number of events that happen in the<br />
world, a similar list could be compiled for any<br />
combination of day of the month and day of the week.<br />
Events that have been notable for being linked to the<br />
concept of Friday the 13th include:</p>
<p>* Hurricane Charley made landfall in south Florida on<br />
Friday, August 13, 2004.</p>
<p>* The &#8220;Friday the 13th Storm&#8221; struck Buffalo, New York<br />
on Friday, October 13, 2006.</p>
<p>* The asteroid 2004 MN4 will make its close encounter on<br />
Friday, April 13, 2029.[21]</p>
<p>* Andes Plane Crash of 1972</p>
<p>Besides Friday the 13th there are other superstitions<br />
many people believe in:</p>
<p>Braking a mirror (other include crystal or glass),</p>
<p>A black cat crossing person’s way,</p>
<p>Walking under the ladder, etc.</p>
<p>Should you avoid traveling on this date? In 1993, the<br />
British Medical Journal conducted a study of automobile<br />
travel on <strong>Friday the 13th</strong>. They found that fewer people<br />
chose to drive on the &#8220;unlucky&#8221; day, but the number of<br />
hospital admissions due to car accidents rose.</p>
<p>They concluded that &#8220;Friday the 13th is unlucky for<br />
some. The risk of hospital admission as a result of a<br />
transport accident may be increased by as much as 52<br />
percent. Staying at home is recommended.&#8221;</p>
<p>While travelling on Fridays seems to continue as usually<br />
the Continental Airlines spokeswoman Julie King says that<br />
Continentals planes have a Row 13.</p>
<p>The Delta ticket agent Cassandra Dozier says that at<br />
least twice a month passengers request to not be seated<br />
in Row 13.</p>
<p>Fairmont Hotels spokesman Mike Taylor says that the<br />
company doesn&#8217;t experience a noticeable drop in<br />
occupancy on Friday the 13th. But he adds that six of the<br />
chain&#8217;s eight American high-rise hotels don&#8217;t have a<br />
13th floor.</p>
<p>Many High-rise buildings do not have 13th Floor and many<br />
Hotels do not have Room 13.</p>
<p>Yet, at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, B.C., <strong>Room 1313 </strong><br />
is frequently requested by guests who believe that the<br />
number is actually good luck.</p>
<p>Since people are more careful and more vigilant on the<br />
Friday the 13th, according to statistics, less fires and<br />
robberies are reported on such a day.</p>
<p>The same should be with driving accidents, but the<br />
contrary is the reality.</p>
<p>It’s being said, that it&#8217;s not <strong>bad luck</strong> but rather <strong>bad<br />
nerves</strong> &#8211; caused by worrying about bad luck are affecting<br />
the way certain people drive &#8211; that make the day so<br />
dangerous.</p>
<p>In conclusion I should mention what happened to the<br />
earliest known documented reference in English that<br />
occurred in an 1869 Biography of Gioachino Rossini:</p>
<p>“[Rossini] was surrounded to the last by admiring and<br />
affectionate friends; and if it be true that, like so<br />
many other Italians, he regarded Friday as an unlucky<br />
day, and thirteen as an unlucky number, it is remarkable<br />
that on Friday, the 13th of November, he died.”S</p>
<p>Something to seriously think about &#8211; it may be good for<br />
driving and other occasions.</p>

days, starting one day before you get sick and continuing<br />
until you&#8217;ve recovered.</p>
<p><strong>When to see a doctor. </strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s not necessary to call a doctor if you&#8217;re generally<br />
healthy and you develop swine flu symptoms, such as<br />
fever, cough and body aches. Do call your doctor,<br />
however, if you have flu symptoms and you&#8217;re pregnant or<br />
you have a chronic disease, such as emphysema or a heart<br />
condition.</p>
<p><strong>Causes. </strong></p>
<p>Influenza viruses infect the cells lining your nose,<br />
throat and lungs. The virus enters your body when you<br />
inhale contaminated droplets or transfer live virus from<br />
a contaminated surface to your eyes, nose or mouth on<br />
your hand.</p>
<p><strong>Risk factors. </strong></p>
<p>Because novel H1N1 virus is new, everyone is at some<br />
risk. Health care workers who provide direct patient care<br />
are at particular risk of catching H1N1 flu. College<br />
students and children in school and child care are also<br />
at high risk. Children typically pick up the virus in the<br />
classroom and pass it to other members of the household.</p>
<p><strong>When Travelling. </strong></p>
<p>-  inform yourself about this illness and if your<br />
Insurance Co. covers your Medical Expenses when<br />
travelling</p>
<p>-  take with you basic first aid and other medical<br />
supplies &#8211; be aware of local medical announcements</p>
<p>-  follow recommendations of how to prevent/restrict<br />
influenza &#8211; wash your hands thoroughly and frequently</p>
<p>-  sneeze into your sleeve at the elbow area to avoid<br />
spreading</p>
<p>-  cover your mouth with Kleenex when coughing</p>
<p>-  do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth</p>
<p>-  keep distance from sick people</p>
<p>-  if if get ill contact your consulate</p>
<p>–  they are going to help you to contact a physician and<br />
they will be informed of your presence in that country</p>
<p>-  when you return home monitor your health about first 10<br />
days</p>
<p>-  call your doctor if you have the symptoms of the<br />
influenza known as grippe and flu, which is upper<br />
respiratory disease also known as swine flu.</p>
<p><strong>Vaccine</strong></p>
<p>Vacccine is available and recommended but there many<br />
professionals and individuals who do not share this<br />
recommendation.</p>
<p>For best results, when in doubt, consult a professional<br />

<p>Dear Olga,</p>
<p>Patients who come to me with unwanted noise filling their<br />
head non-stop are among the most frustrated. You can’t<br />
sleep. You can’t read. It’s tough to concentrate on<br />
anything.</p>
<p>When I went to medical school, like all beginning<br />
doctors, I had to learn a new language. We doctors have<br />
different words for everything. So we don’t call it<br />
“ringing in your ears.” We call it tinnitus.</p>
<p>Problem is, all those fancy new words aside, doctors just<br />
don’t seem to be able to do a darn thing to fix the<br />
problem.</p>
<p>Most doctors say you’ll get used to it eventually. That<br />
you just have to live with it. Some even blame you for<br />
causing it – all those years listening to music too<br />
loudly or working near noisy machinery.</p>
<p>But there are other causes of tinnitus. Taking<br />
antibiotics, having chronic ear infections, even food<br />
allergies cause the disorder.</p>
<p>And you can make the ringing stop. While some doctors<br />
will put you on anti-depressants or tranquilizers to help<br />
numb your mind, I’ve found some natural remedies can make<br />
tinnitus disappear.</p>
<p><strong>Ginkgo biloba</strong>. Over 40 clinical studies show that ginkgo<br />
eases tinnitus. For example, a German study of tinnitus<br />
sufferers shows that ginkgo reduces ringing.1 Another<br />
review of studies says taking ginkgo for one to three<br />
months has a significantly greater reduction and speedier<br />
relief.</p>
<p>Even Germany’s Commission E, which regulates supplements,<br />
officially endorses ginkgo as a treatment for tinnitus. I<br />
recommend 80 mg three times a day.</p>
<p><strong>Vinpocetine</strong>. If loud noises caused your tinnitus,<br />
vinpocetine may be the answer. In one study, tinnitus<br />
disappeared in half of those who took it within one week<br />
of trauma.</p>
<p>Even if you don’t take it right away, it can lessen the<br />
severity. Regardless of the time lapse since the trauma,<br />
66 percent had a significant decrease. I recommend 20 mg<br />
a day.</p>
<p><strong>CoQ10</strong>. A British study found that tinnitus sufferers with<br />
low levels of CoQ10 benefited significantly from CoQ10<br />
supplements.</p>
<p>Get your blood levels checked. If your CoQ10 levels are<br />

<p><strong>Take First Baby Steps To Solve The Problem</strong></p>
<p>You can begin getting out of this predicament by<br />
evaluating the following: Does the food you consume<br />
contain a lot of junk-food? Do you eat mostly the<br />
processed (frozen) food? Do you indulge yourself in soft,<br />
sugary drinks? Are you the kind of a person that has to<br />
have rich, sweet snacks and deserts?</p>
<p>If so, you should gradually stop consuming those damaging<br />
products and replace them with:</p>
<p>Wholesome foodstuff and Fresh vegetables.</p>

outdoor activities continue for young as well as not so<br />
young.</p>
<p>We enjoy sunshine and our health also benefits from the<br />
magic rays of the sun and many people prefer to spend<br />
more time basking themselves in the sun-rays and travel<br />
long distances to places where they can  continue to do<br />
so.</p>
<p>Sunshine is the source of all life on our Planet. While<br />
without it nothing grows, too much of it produces the<br />
opposite effect.  Sun rays are the matter of interest and<br />
importance to one and everyone: how much of that gift of<br />
nature should a person absorb is an answer yet to be<br />
found.</p>
<p>It is quite confusing to decide what to do in our modern<br />
days. There are too many different opinions, too many<br />
different schools of thought.</p>
<p>There are also people, who believe that to never expose<br />
the human body to the sun or cover it with cloth will<br />
prevent cancer.</p>
<p>Another group of people contradict this notion by<br />
affirming that the sunrays are the most beneficial not<br />
only for every living organism, but especially for the<br />
human body.</p>
<p>The studies show that the places of the body, which have<br />
been protected in this way and then exposed to the sun<br />
for a longer period of time, get cancer regardless.</p>
<p>Also we hear that by exposing a human body to the sun we<br />
provide it with desperately needed Vitamin D and that the<br />
sunrays have healing power and are most beneficial for us<br />
in more than one aspect.</p>
<p>Everyone knows we have to be careful of the sunrays -<br />
they have those dangerous ultra-violet rays (UV), which<br />
not only burn the human skin, but also cause cancer.</p>
<p>Who is right?</p>
<p>So, let’s go back to the olden days, when there were more<br />
people who enjoyed this God’s creation than<br />
“self-appointed” scientists in this field who debated its<br />
benefits.</p>
<p>Barely 100 years ago, I remember, it was very fashionable<br />
and considerate healthy to spend a sunny afternoon<br />
outdoors, moderately dressed, alternating between the<br />
sunny and shadowy spots, while enjoying the surroundings.</p>
<p>In our modern world I notice people are barely covering<br />
their bodies and exposing them to the sunrays for a long<br />
period of time. The consequence:  a damaged skin!  But<br />
there is the sunscreen to protect us! Exclaims the<br />
contemporary educated crowd.</p>
<p>No, do not use that stuff &#8211; it contains chemicals that<br />
damage the skin and causes cancer, contradicts the<br />
environmentalist group.  There is a conflict, indeed and<br />
where are the experts to tell us what to do?</p>
<p>How about turning our mind to the common sense and hear<br />
what is its reasoning?</p>
<p>We are being informed that the human body’s largest<br />
organ, the human skin, is made of multiple layers of<br />
tissues and its primary responsibility to guard body’s<br />
muscles, ligaments, bones, and internal organs.</p>
<p>It’s also a protecting device against infectious diseases<br />
and excessive water loss. Skin also insulates, regulates<br />
temperature and sensation. It harmonizes Vitamin D and<br />
protects vitamin B folates, absorbs some of the UV, and<br />
also acts as a barricade against water and soap so that<br />
nutrients are not washed out of the body when we clean<br />
ourselves.</p>
<p>This organ also contains enzymes that help reverse UV<br />
damage. Individuals, who do not have enough of these<br />
enzymes and therefore cannot protect themselves from UV<br />
rays, are suffering from skin cancer at higher rate.</p>
<p>Skin pigmentation, as to be expected, varies amongst<br />
people as well as the skin color.</p>
<p>Prevention is the best defense: people can avoid burns<br />
and consequently cancer. Should a person get skin cancer,<br />
if caught early, it’s easily cured.</p>
<p>My logo is:  PREVENTION. Since not everyone knows of his<br />
or her exact skin composition it’s difficult to choose<br />
the right sunscreen, but there are excellent products<br />
that are readily available in every kitchen cabinet.</p>
<p>My favored is the Olive Oil (the purer the better). If it<br />
were not readily available any oil would do.</p>
<p>Another product that was very popular and widely used for<br />
this purpose was Vaseline (White Petroleum Jelly U.S.P)<br />
the “Ultimate Moisturizer”, which helped new mothers to<br />
care for the newborn babies’ skin.</p>
<p>It has been proven that these products lubricate and<br />
nourish the skin, guard it against the sunrays and save<br />
money.</p>
<p>Consequently using the Olive Oil and the Vaseline<br />
(natural products) the person safeguards himself/herself<br />
from the Sun-Rays and at the same time benefits<br />
threefold.</p>
<p>Try it! You’ll not only be pleasantly surprised &#8211; you<br />
will be glad you did!</p>

indispensable for a person’s well being. Lack of sleep<br />
affects people’s health, they become moody, irritable and<br />
even forgetful without adequate sleep.</p>
<p>It is no wonder then that new parents are concerned about<br />
their sleepless nights when they bring their newborn baby<br />
home from the hospital.</p>
<p>A new baby needs to eat every few hours.  Hence the new<br />
mother has to feed him and many new fathers are trying to<br />
be “helpful” as much as possible – at time by just<br />
sympathizing.</p>
<p>But these sleepless nights should not last for a long<br />
period of time. You can re-arrange somewhat your schedule<br />
making the night-time routine go a lot easier.</p>
<p>You may hear a lot of suggestions from your friends and<br />
relatives,But you need to educate yourself from reliable<br />
sources: read books written by professional people as<br />
well as articles in magazines.</p>
<p>Besides that, you have to keep in mind that not two<br />
babies are alike.</p>
<p>A newborn baby has a very little stomach, so it gets<br />
hungry “all the time”. And it’s rightfully so, your baby<br />
is developing, is grooving – you would not want it to be<br />
otherwise.</p>
<p>I had two children and they were very different in their<br />
sleeping habits. One slept for long hours and needed an<br />
afternoon nap until the age of about 6, while the other<br />
child stopped napping at the age of about three.</p>
<p>While you could start “disciplining” the new baby nearly<br />
right away in teaching the proper “sleeping-habits” – I<br />
personally would keep the harshness away and try to be<br />
patient for a few first weeks.</p>
<p>One thing you may introduce right from the start that at<br />
night it’s strictly eating time and not entertainment<br />
time and also you should put the child to bed without<br />
pacifiers, bottles – in other words without help from<br />
you, without “crutches” or toys.</p>
<p>You could adjust the hours of feeding. Some babies may<br />
sleep at night during 4-5 hours – that’s what the “night”<br />
for the baby is like.</p>
<p>You may feed the child at midnight and so your “night”<br />
would be till four of five in the morning.</p>
<p>Keeping in mind that the newborn grows rapidly during<br />
his/hers first two month in spite the fact that it’s<br />
tummy is very small and the food get digested very<br />
quickly.</p>
<p>The child needs to be fed every two-four hours.</p>
<p>A good practice would be to have the child fall asleep on<br />
it’s own with one toy in the crib. By “on it’s own” I<br />
mean not giving him the bottle or breast-feed him just to<br />
get him to sleep.</p>
<p>If the child begins to fall asleep while it is being fed<br />
just gently remove the bottle or your breast before he<br />
falls asleep and put him in to the crib without a<br />
pacifier.</p>
<p>This way the newborn will not associate the feeding and<br />
the sleep as being closely “related” – sequenced.</p>
<p>There are several things that you can do to make certain<br />
that the baby sleeps well.</p>
<p>Make sure that the temperature in the room is warm and<br />
enjoyable for a baby. If the room temperature is<br />
comfortable your newborn should not have too many<br />
blankets.</p>
<p>Do not dress the baby too warmly because if a newborn<br />
gets hot it will wake up, hence he or she is going to<br />
wake you up as well.</p>
<p>If the baby is dressed many different layers to keep warm<br />
this may also disturb his/her sleep.</p>
<p>It is important to put your baby to sleep at the same<br />
time and in the same room every night.</p>
<p>Keep the room dark and quiet.</p>
<p>At times grown ups are speaking of the newborn sleeping<br />
“through the night”, which means of about 5 hours: from,<br />
12 to 5 in the morning. That’s the “night” for the baby<br />
(not for you!).</p>
<p>It will take about a year or a little longer until the<br />
real “sleeping through the night” will take place.</p>
<p>It’s important for the parents to get their sleep.</p>
<p>Besides being disturbed by the child’s feeding hours the<br />
parents may get anxious or worried.</p>
<p>This is one of the things you should not do – worry,<br />
which is according to studies, is number ONE cause of<br />
sleep deprivation.</p>
<p>The child will grow-up soon and in time you are going to<br />
recall those “sleepless” nights as some very special<br />
events from your ‘distant” and joyful life.</p>

this little, defenseless and the most adorable being is<br />
not only very sensitive but also is most perceptive.</p>
<p>You may feel that holding the baby is a challenge – but it<br />
is not.</p>
<p>As a first time parent you need to know, to learn how to<br />
pick the baby up so it would feel secure in your arms. If<br />
you are nervous or upset for whatever reason and then are<br />
not sure how to pick-up the baby from the crib, you are<br />
going to have the unhappiest little wiggly being in your<br />
arms.</p>
<p>Before you pick the baby up you would have to speak softly<br />
to the child, to let the newborn know you are close by.</p>
<p>Then pick the baby up with a firm grip and make the child<br />
feel secure by gently pressing the little bundle against<br />
your body, which also would give the baby the feeling of<br />
comfort.</p>
<p>When you are picking the newborn up you are positioning<br />
one of your hands under his neck, cradling the head and<br />
placing it in the crook of your arm supporting the body<br />
with your arm.</p>
<p>You can also place the baby against your chest, facing<br />
you, always keeping one hand on the back of baby’s head<br />
and the other hand against the child’s body.</p>
<p>While babies look fragile, in reality they are not, but<br />
the neck is very vulnerable place to get injured – <strong>so, at<br />
all times for the first few weeks place one of your hands<br />
under the baby’s head when picking the newborn up or<br />
pacing it down.</strong></p>
<p>If you are tense or upset and don’t calm down your voice<br />
and yourself before you are picking the newborn up, the<br />
child will sense this and the child will arch its back and<br />
would not want to be hold by you at this moment.</p>
<p><strong>Learn Your Child’s Likes and Dislikes</strong></p>
<p>There are different ways to hold your newborn. The most<br />
traditional way is the one described above. The other way<br />
is holding it against your chest with baby’s head against<br />
your shoulder (watch the head! Hold your hand against the<br />
neck!)</p>
<p>Another way, the most entertaining way for the child, is<br />
holding the baby with its back against your body so the<br />
child’s face is not obstructed and he/she can see the<br />
surroundings, see what is going on.</p>
<p>Should you hold the baby for a while it’s a good idea to<br />
change holding positions so that the baby does not get<br />
bored or part of the tender body may get numb and<br />
therefore sore.</p>
<p>You need to hold, touch and talk to the newborn often for<br />
not only to form a bond between the two of you but to make<br />
the baby feel safe and secure, leading to the child’s<br />
physical and emotional security, which is very important<br />
for good health and happiness of your baby not only for<br />
the immediate future, but for the rest of child’s life.<br />

Touching and talking</strong></p>
<p>This is your first baby – everything about the child is<br />
new to you and so is the world to your child. So, you both<br />
are discovering each other, learning to be with each other<br />
and enjoying each other.</p>
<p>Keep your mind on your baby and hold him/her close to your<br />
body when you are holding your newborn; make the child<br />
feel comfortable safe and secure, cuddle the baby, make<br />
the child feel loved, wanted and secure  – those are the<br />
prime requirements from you at this time while you both<br />
are getting to know one-an-other as well as learning to<br />
enjoy each other.</p>
<p>I noticed lately that there are a few “holding devises” on<br />
the market, but I am not familiar with them.  They give me<br />
the impression that they may be comfortable for the older<br />
children but not for the newborn. But as I said before, I<br />
am not familiar with them.</p>
<p>It does not take long for a grown up person to suffocate<br />
without air &#8211; you can imagine how fragile a newborn child<br />
is and how quickly an accident can happen. It’s always<br />
better to be sure and familiar with the devise how to<br />
handle before involving the newborn.</p>

<p>Most people have the names lined-up before the<br />
baby is born. And then there are the family<br />
members with their suggestions and questions &#8211; it<br />
is difficult to have everyone happy and involved<br />
in this project.</p>
<p>Some couples consult, share their choices with<br />
friends and other members of the family, while<br />
other – do not. Some relatives get offended about<br />
it, but there is no need to feel so or feel<br />
neglected.</p>
<p>It depends on many factors such as:</p>
<p>The cultural background of the  couple. If the<br />
parents of the baby have the same back-ground,<br />
lived for many yeas in the same country  then the<br />
family members know, more or less, what to expect<br />
in regards to choosing the name &#8211; whatever is<br />
common practice in that  country.  The young<br />
couple may follow the tradition.</p>
<p>But the customs change swiftly in our modern<br />
world, the  family members should be prepared for<br />
“disappointments” if they are not going to be<br />
consulted.</p>
<p>Many couples decide to keep to themselves, be<br />
private, and inform the grand-parents when they<br />
are comfortable to do the announcement.</p>
<p>Whatever the new parents decide the family have to<br />
accept and honor their decision without<br />
resentment.</p>
<p>You may hear many suggestions from friends and<br />
relatives, such as warning you not to give a name<br />
from one of the celebrities, the fad names or<br />
names that may go out of style quickly or to<br />
choose a name only from the Bible.</p>
<p>Some names have connotations with them – it would<br />
be  considered to stay away from such a name so<br />
that teasing  and tormenting in School would be<br />
avoided.</p>
<p>We know that young children in School are trying<br />
to be funny, inventive to stay “popular” and may<br />
pick on other student’s names if they are somewhat<br />
unusually original.</p>
<p>To be a parent is to be predictive, wise and<br />
thoughtful. When giving your child a name those<br />
faculties should be strongly taken into<br />
consideration.</p>
<p>This is a responsibility that you, as parents,<br />
should take very seriously. You have to think that<br />
the name is going to be with the child for the<br />
rest of his/her life. You, as a parent have to be<br />
considered and thoughtful when you are choosing<br />
the name(s).</p>
<p>A name has to go with the middle name and the last<br />
name. At times they look good when they are<br />
written down but when you pronounce them they<br />
sound awkward – they don’t seem to sound good<br />
together.</p>
<p>The first, middle and the last name should flow<br />
when pronounced together. Somebody said that the<br />
first name should come out easily  when it’s<br />
“yelled” out on the run.</p>
<p>A name is what defines a person.</p>
<p>The child has to live with it for the rest of<br />
his/her life, although I have seen cases where<br />
adolescent children asked parents to assist them<br />
in changing their given names legally.</p>
<p>They were minor changes, such as a spelling of the<br />
name; in other cases to avoid changing the name<br />
legally they would introduce themselves by the<br />
legal name, but add, that they wish to be<br />
addressed by such and such name.</p>
<p>At times, parents wish that their child has a<br />
unique, original name – a name that no one else<br />
has.  So, they choose a name and change the<br />
spelling, which does not go with the<br />
pronunciation.</p>
<p>In that case the child would be always concerned<br />
to correct the traditional spelling to make<br />
certain that it is his/her name and that it is<br />
spelled correctly.</p>
<p>An other mistake parents make is giving a child a<br />
long name. I made this mistake giving my daughter<br />
a beautiful, but somewhat long name.</p>
<p>When she was in the beginning Grades in the Public<br />
School that was a handicap for her. The teacher<br />
would tell the students to write their names on a<br />
page. Pupils, whose name consisted of four-five<br />
letters would be finished in a jiffy &#8211; my daughter<br />
needed double time to write down hers. For a child<br />
so young, could be embarrassing.</p>
<p>Should you really like such name &#8211; use it as a<br />
middle name.</p>
<p>Something to think about.</p>
<p>It is a big responsibility for the parents to give<br />
the child his/her name.</p>
<p>There are names that carry a lot of history. It<br />
could be a name that has been passed down in your<br />
family &#8211; you are going to be giving them a part of<br />
that history. If you want to honor someone in your<br />
family but do not like their name, you can use it<br />
as the baby’s middle name.</p>
<p>There are some things that you may not have<br />
thought about but you should keep in mind that<br />
rhyming names or names that do sound funny with<br />
the last name is not a good idea. Children will<br />
use this to torment and make the child feel<br />
uncomfortable.</p>
<p>Be very careful to give the baby a name that is<br />
not easy to make fun of and also make sure that<br />
your child’s initials are not going to spell<br />
something that may be embarrassing.</p>
<p>These are all valuable things that are important<br />
to think about.  But there is so much excitement<br />
with approaching birth of a baby and many time<br />
many things are not though of by parents.</p>
<p>The name that you give your baby is something that<br />
he or she can be proud of for the rest of his/her<br />
life.  Be sure that the name is a good one.</p>
<p>Be ware of fad names and names that may go out of<br />
style fast.  Be cautious also that if you use a<br />
name that is too popular, for some reason, your<br />
child can be drawn in into whatever connotations<br />
name has.</p>
<p>You have to anticipate, be thoughtful and wise -<br />
be precautionary as well as protective at all time<br />
– those are the qualities of caring parents.</p>
